Ravikiran, who recently created world history by setting the entire 1330 Tirukkural verses, to tune in a record time of 16 hours, was also the first vaggeyakara to create the 35-tala compositions. He was inspired to do this in Aug-Sept of 1997, in 30 days, averaging more than a song a day. The 35-tala set spans over 3 languages - Tamil, Telugu and Sanskrit. They include two varnams and one tillana, the rest being krtis. They cover a range of ragas including ghana ragas like Todi, Kalyani & Kharaharapriya, rakti ragas like Sahana, Ahiri & Anandabhairavi, ragas such as Phalamanjari, Rudrapriya and Bahudari, desheeya ragas like Behag as well as one of Ravikiran's discoveries, Garudapriya. Some of these feature interesting chittaswaras and madhyamakalas. Deities eulogized include Vinayaka, Rama/Krishna, Shiva, Devi and Subramanya. The songs were composed in no specific order of talas.[+] Show More

Chitravina N Ravikiran's Uma Gowri - Poorvikalyani - Mishra Chapu | Bhargavi Balasubramanian
"Uma Gowri" in Poorvikalyani is one of the Ravikiran’s earlier works on Devi, set to Mishra Chapu talam and is particularly captivating with its two Charanams. The influence of Oottukkadu ...Venkata Kavi and Shyama Shastri are reflected, in the svara-sahityam section and the use of phrases like "ravi shashi kuNDala lOllOlAsini." The composer has skillfully integrated the scale of Poorvikalyani into this section, including the raga mudra, making it a rich and intricate tribute.
This song is part of a Devi Krtis Series presented by Vid. Bhargavi Balasubramanian @bhargavibalasubramanian along with V S P Gayatri Sivani (Violin) & S Hariharan (mrdangam).

Highlights:
* Over 800 compositions - excluding hundreds of short (Ragam Tanam) Pallavis, over 75% of which are composed on-stage during his performances.
* 5 languages - Tamil, Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada
* Music and dance forms: Geetam, Varnam, Krti, Tillana, Padam, Pada Varnam, Javali, Chindu, Bhajan, Kavuttuvam, Shabdam and his own inventive forms like Swarakrti (krti form but sans lyrics) and Shiruppuhazh (a la Arunagirinathar's Tiruppuhazh)

* Employ innovative approaches to incorporating Raga-mudra (name of raga) in multiple ways within the same composition, "Adharam nee enakku" where the raga name Kedaram appears directly or suggestively 8-9 times).
* Special compositions on Destiny (Vidhi), Yama, Adishesha, Karna, Indrajit (S/o Ravana) etc.
* Other creations: Eulogies on Buddha, Vyasa, Ramanuja, Tyagaraja, Carnatic Music Trinity, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Vivekananda, Kanchi Paramacharya, Mahatma Gandhi, Sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, M S Subbulakshmi, Guru Chitravina Narasimhan besides social critiques and philosophical works.[+] Show More

Wellness Prayer Song | Anjaneya palayashumam | Sahana | Chitravina N Ravikiran | Voice Ensemble
Set in the evocative Indian Raga Sahana (also spelt as Sahana by some), this composition is one of Ravikiran’s Health and Wellness songs. It eulogizes Hanuman as the bestower of ...intellect, power, energy, robust health free of illnesses, courage and many other positive qualities. Though the composer describes himself as "probably more spiritualistic than ritualistic", this is one song that he rendered almost daily from Sept 2014 till it was premiered on 2 April 2020 as part of Ramanavami celebrations. This video was specially recorded by an ensemble consisting of some of the direct disciples of the composer who have been listed in alphabetical order:

A globally celebrated performer, Ravikiran has composed over 1050 compositions in 5 languages which includes over 350 traditional and operatic dance creations and dozens of Western Orchestral and World Music Ensemble compositions and arrangements.
Ravikiran is the only composer to have composed a song on each one of the 108 Divya Deshams (a feat which he accomplished in 45 days), the 35-Tala Set of compositions, 72-Mela Ragamalika Geetam, Pancha Gati Varnam as well as individual varnams in each of the 5 gatis, Multi-language compositions (Bhasha Malikas), Dasha-Ranjani Tillana, Schematic Swarakshara Krtis and several other unique works. He is also one of the few to have composed songs on each one of the 72 Melakartas (he did this in a matter of 36 days). Besides, he has composed eulogies or new ragas on mythological as well as historical and select contemporary personalities including Buddha, Vyasa, Adi Shankara, Shri Ramanuja, Carnatic Music Trinity, Ramana Maharshi, Mahatma Gandhi, Kanchi Paramacharya, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Beethoven, M S Subbulakshmi, Pt Ravishankar and his guru Chitravina Narasimhan and several socially inspirational pieces.

He has been decorated with a number of awards across the world for his contributions, being the first and/or youngest to receive honours such as the President of India's Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (at age 39).
RAVIKIRAN's "The Indestructible" | Prayer to SUDARSHANA | Victory of Positive Forces over Negative
1. Ravikiran's “INDESTRUCTIBLE - Vairi mada nashana” is perhaps the only full Indian Classical Music song exclusively on Shri Sudarshana. It was inspired by Shri Vedanta Deshika’s Sudarshana Ashtakam, whose ...opening phrase, “prati bhaTa shrENi bheeShaNa” forms the beginning of one of this song’s sections.
2. It is a prayer for Victory of Positive Forces of every type over Negative ones. It has been performed by a talented army of musicians, several of who are sought-after performers and educators.
3. It is also a tribute to all true heroes - social, political, sports and artistic champions as well as millions of unsung heroes of the Armed Forces, Police Forces, Investigative Agencies, Doctors & Health Care workers who tirelessly ensure our safety, prosperity and health.
4 The instrumentation, occasionally peppered with war drums is suggestive of the valour and energy of armies just as some of the visuals, (which are general shots and not intended to spotlight any country). But the composer Ravikiran is a deep rooted non-confrontationalist who is against *unprovoked attacks* of any kind and has dedicated much of his life to promote inter-cultural harmony.
5. At a philosophical level, this song is also a prayer for the Positive to conquer the Negative *within the minds of each one of us*.
